The Open University of Sri Lanka invites application for the Bachelor of Education (Special Needs Education) degree programme for the 2016/2017 academic Year.

The principal goal of this programme is to develop professional knowledge, attitudes and skills of the participants. The course would deal comprehensively with all aspects of Special Needs Education.

It’s a 4 year degree programme offered by the Department of Special Needs Education of the Faculty of Education in collaboration with the respective Faculties/ Departments of the Open University of Sri Lanka.

The total Duration of this Programme is 4 years.

Applications are called from applicants who already have completed a Diploma (Level 3 & 4) from the Open University of Sri Lanka to enroll at Level 5 of the B.Ed (SNE) Degree programme conducted by the Department of Special Needs Education.

Medium – English/Sinhala/Tamil (The medium of instruction would be decided according to the number of students enrolled for each media)

Duration – 2 Years

Academic Activities – Only in Colombo Regional Centre

For the future applicants of B.Ed (SNE) Degree

An applicant who wish to enroll to the B.Ed (SNE) Degree programme need first to follow any Diploma Level Programme (Level 3 & 4) conducted by the Open University of Sri Lanka. We encourage you to give your priority for any one of these programmes mentioned below.

• Diploma in Early Childhood and Primary Education Programme (Levels 3 & 4)
• BA Social Sciences Degree Programme (Levels 3 & 4)
• BA in Management (Levels 3&4)
• B.Sc. Natural Sciences Degree Programme (Levels 3&4)

offered by the Open University of Sri Lanka.

Students those who have completed the above mentioned Diploma Level Programme (Level 3 & 4), are able to enroll the last two years of the B.Ed (SNE) Degree Programme conducted by the Department of Special Needs Education of the Open University of Sri Lanka.
