University of Moratuwa Faculty of Graduate Studies invites applications for the postgraduate research degree programs (full time or part time)

Preliminary applications are called from eligible persons for the following postgraduate research degree programs (full time or part time) at the University of Moratuwa:

• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
• Master of Philosophy (MPhil)
• Master of Science (with a major component of research)

Research topics are available in the following broad areas. A limited number of scholarships are available.

Faculty of Architecture

Department of Architecture: Sustainable architecture & urban development, urban health, urban heritage conservation, urban morphological studies, carbon constrained building practices, colour psychology, sustainability assessment of built environment, architectural theory.

Department of Building Economics: Economics, safety, sustainability & health in construction industry, lean construction, building performance evaluation. Disaster management, mitigation & reconstruction, Waste management, value management, investment, models, contract administration, construction innovation & productivity, integrated procurement systems, integrated facilities management.

Department of Town & Country Planning: Safety, community planning, public participation, Spatial planning & regional dynamics, urban design & simulation.

Faculty of Engineering

Civil Eng.: Building materials, improvements and performance, road safety and rehabilitation, fuel consumption and emission reduction, highway engineering.

Electrical Eng.: Power systems modelling, smart grids, power quality, earthing and lightning protection. Biomedical Eng.: Biomedical signal processing & medical electronics (Endothelial dysfunction, auditory brain stem response, chronic bowl syndrome), human motion analysis, lower limb prosthesis, lower limb exoskeleton robots.

Electronic &, Telecom Eng.: Vehicular communication, 5G spectrum sensing

Computer Science & Eng.: Software engineering, software processes management, human computer interaction, technology-enhanced learning.

Earth Resources Eng.: Landslide investigation, groundwater exploration.

Chemical & Process Eng.: Impact of chemical process plant releases.

Faculty of Information Technology

Department of Information Technology : Image processing, computer vision video content analysis, big data analytics, high performance computing, brain-computer interaction.

Preliminary applications will be received by the Assistant Registrar, Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Moratuwa until 30^th September 2015 Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the University for further action. Selected candidates would commence their degree programs in early 2016.
