Srilankan Technical Training is the only institute in Sri Lanka approved by EASA to conduct Basic Training in both Avionics and Mechanical streams, fulfilling standards of EASA Part 66. Apart from EASA, our training programs are approved by the Civil Aviation Authorities of Sri Lanka (CAASL). Pakistan (CAA), Oman (OGCA) and the Maldives (CAD).
Aircraft Maintenance Training CAT At (Airplane Turbine)
The course is designed according to the EASA Part 66 CAT A1 syllabus and is considered a preliminary entry point to aircraft maintenance.
Course Duration
8 months to 1 year – includes theory (30%-35%) / practical training in classrooms / training workshops / on-the-job training within Srilankan Engineering workshops / line and Base Maintenance
Medium – English
Course Fee – Rs.850,000/- applicable taxes (inclusive of Instructor fee, Course Material, workshop and OJT etc). Course fee could be paid in full on enrolment or an initial payment of Rs 350,000/- + applicable taxes and the balance in 2 installments of Rs.250,000/- each + applicable taxes.
Minimum Qualifications and Prerequisites:
- 6 credit passes at G.C.E (O/L) including Science, Mathematics & English or an equivalent educational qualification in one sitting.
- The credit pass in English should be obtained in not more than two sittings
- Age between 17-24 years
- Fluency in English
Basic Course B 1.1 (Airplane Turbine)
The course is designed as per the EASA Part 66 basic training Category B1.1 requirements. It is predominantly associated with the mechanical aspects of the aircraft including the aircraft structure, systems such as Air-conditioning. Hydraulic Power, landing Gear, Doors and Airrcraft Engine etc.
Basic Course B 2 (Avionics)
The course is designed as per the EASA Pan 66 basic training Category B2 requirements. It is predominantly associated with the Avionics aspects of the aircraft including Electrical Power Systems. Aircraft Navigational & Instrument Systems and Radio Equipment & Communication Systems etc.
Course Duration – 2 years – includes theory and practical training in classrooms, training workshops and on-the-job training within Srilankan Engineering workshops, line and Base Maintenance.
Medium – English
Course Fee – Rs. 1,700,000/- – applicable taxes (inclusive of Instructor fees. Course Material workshop, OJT etc) Course fee could be paid in full on enrolment or an initial payment of Rs.400.000/- + applicable taxes and the balance in 5 installments of Rs.260,000/- each + applicable taxes.
Minimum Qualifications and Prerequisites:
6 credit passes at G.C.E (O/L) including Science, Mathematics & English or an equivalent educational qualification in one sitting. The credit pass in English should be obtained in not more than two sittings, and two credit passes at GCE (A/L) including Physics (excluding General English) or an equivalent educational qualification in one sitting.
Age between 17-24 years
Fluency in English
- A 5% discount on the course fee would be offered if full payment was made on enrolment
- Concessional loan scheme is available.
Training will be offered on civil, wide-body. Pressurized jet aircraft Trainees will have the opportunity to gain experience in all types of aircraft in the Srilankan Airlines fleet, including A320, A321. A330 and A340
Course certificates will be awarded to those who successfully complete all examinations, practical assessments and fulfill attendance requirements.
